UTME Mock Scores Released: JAMB Focuses On Main Exam Enhancements

JAMB-BOARD

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released the results of the 2025 Mock Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, which was held on Thursday, April 10th. Candidates who participated in the trial run can now check their scores through a straightforward SMS method. JAMB’s spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, instructed candidates to text “MOCKRESULT” to either 55019 or 66019 using the phone number they used for registration.

JAMB highlighted that the mock UTME is an optional exercise primarily aimed at testing the board’s new technological integrations for the upcoming main UTME. Additionally, it offers candidates a valuable opportunity to familiarize themselves with the computer-based testing environment. Of the 200,113 registered candidates, a considerable 73,844 were absent, and 88 experienced biometric verification failures.

Consequently, 126,181 candidates successfully took the mock examination, and the results for 115,735 of these candidates are now available. JAMB also informed the public that the results for the remaining 10,446 candidates are currently being processed and will be released shortly. The board also acknowledged that some candidates encountered delays during the mock examination and expressed regret for any inconvenience caused by these technical issues.

JAMB clarified that these disruptions were an outcome of incorporating new features designed to improve the security and efficiency of the main UTME. The board urged candidates to continue their support, emphasizing that the mock examination remains a critical component of their strategy to enhance the UTME process and better prepare candidates. This initiative has a proven track record of identifying and resolving potential challenges before the main examination.

Ultimately, JAMB emphasized that the mock UTME serves as a crucial testing ground for new technologies and a valuable familiarization tool for candidates regarding the CBT format. This proactive approach has consistently proven effective in addressing potential issues and providing candidates with essential experience for the main UTME, contributing to a more seamless and successful examination for all aspiring tertiary education students.
