Okpebholo Promises Infrastructure Overhaul In Esan Land After Tribunal Win

Fresh from his tribunal victory, Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo has announced plans for a comprehensive infrastructure revolution across Edo Central Senatorial District, with particular focus on Esan land.

Speaking at a reception held in his honor in Ewatto, Esan South East Local Government Area on Saturday, Okpebholo assured residents that his administration will prioritize road construction, clean water access, and improved transportation networks throughout the region.

“The people of Edo State will not regret voting for me as their governor,” Okpebholo told the gathering of political allies, traditional leaders, and supporters. “We are ushering in a new era where infrastructural development will touch every part of the state, especially Esan land.

”The governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Fred Itua, released a statement Sunday detailing Okpebholo’s commitment to align the region more closely with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s federal reform agenda.

Okpebholo predicted significant political shifts in the coming months, stating: “Very soon, there will be a wave of defections into the APC from opposition parties. The South-South must unite and speak with one voice as we approach 2027.”

The reception was hosted by philanthropist Dr. Lemon Ikpea, whose medical center project in Idumuiyase, Ewatto, received a visit from the governor during the same trip.

In a revealing moment, Okpebholo shared that his political aspirations were partly motivated by personal tragedy—losing his sister to a waterborne illness.

“In 2021, it was difficult to find an Esan candidate willing to contest under the APC, but in 2022, a conversation changed everything,” he reflected. “That moment became the eye-opener that led me to run for Senate, and now I stand here as governor.”

As Okpebholo implements what he terms his vision of “uncommon grace and transformation,” residents across Edo State are watching closely to see if campaign promises will translate into concrete improvements in their daily lives.

The infrastructure initiatives are expected to begin rolling out in the coming weeks, according to sources close to the administration.
