Hold Akpabio, Bello, Ododo Responsible If Anything Happens To Me – Natasha

Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, representing Kogi Central Senatorial District, has urged Nigerians to hold Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Kogi State Governor Ahmed Ododo, and his predecessor, Yahaya Bello, accountable if she or her supporters face any form of attack.

In a post on her official Facebook page on Tuesday, Akpoti-Uduaghan issued a stern warning, stating, “My dear people of Kogi Central, I look forward to our peaceful Sallah celebrations today. However, should we be met with or infiltrated by violence, Nigerians should hold Gov Òdodo, Yahaya Bello & SP Godswill Akpabio wholly responsible.”

Her statement comes just hours after she reaffirmed her decision to proceed with her scheduled visit to her constituency for the Eid-el-Fìtr celebrations, despite rising tensions and opposition. The senator also dismissed speculation that she had canceled her visit, urging her supporters to disregard such rumors.

Emphasizing her statutory duty as the representative of her constituents, Akpoti-Uduaghan encouraged her supporters to come out in large numbers and celebrate the Eid-el-Fitr festival with her.

On Monday, the Kogi State Government imposed a ban on public rallies and gatherings, citing security concerns.

The government also prohibited fishing activities, linking them to the recent loss of two lives in Kasemiya, Katubo, and Umozu Ette, all in Kogi Local Government Area in Kogi West.

Kogi’s Commissioner for Information, Kingsley Fanwo, defended the decision, stating that the restrictions were necessary to prevent potential security breaches that could destabilize the state.

Similarly, the Kogi Police Command cautioned Akpoti-Uduaghan against proceeding with her planned Sallah rally. The State Commissioner of Police, Miller Dantawaye, stressed that the gathering would violate the newly announced ban on political rallies.

Despite the ban, videos circulating on social media show enthusiastic supporters preparing for Akpoti-Uduaghan’s homecoming rally. One such live feed, shared by Kogi Senator Bashir Haroon, captured hundreds of her supporters, predominantly women, singing and drumming in anticipation of her arrival.

As tensions continue to rise, all eyes remain on Kogi Central to see how events unfold during the senator’s visit.
