Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan Applauds Oby Ezekwesili For Standing Her Ground At Senate Panel

Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan of Kogi Central has expressed deep appreciation for former Education Minister Oby Ezekwesili, acknowledging her resilience in the face of insults during a Senate Committee panel on Tuesday.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday, Akpoti-Uduaghan praised Ezekwesili as a beacon of integrity, courage, and leadership, highlighting her unwavering dedication to accountability and democracy.

“Ma’am, I apologise for the insults. Know you took them for me… for us … as a mother and as a leader. You are a true icon of integrity, courage, and visionary leadership,” the senator wrote.

She further commended Ezekwesili’s lifelong commitment to governance, education, and justice, emphasizing her impact in inspiring future generations.

Responding to the tribute, Ezekwesili reaffirmed her stance, stating, “A torrent of insults from any source is but a little price to pay in our resolve to see a Nigerian that becomes.”

She added that women and future generations must not inherit struggles that should have been fought and won today, stressing that a society that silences women and the vulnerable cannot thrive.

Ezekwesili’s display of defiance at the panel has sparked widespread conversations about gender, power, and accountability in Nigeria’s political landscape.
