Former Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi has alleged that the ongoing feud between suspended Governor Siminalayi Fubara and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, revolves around money sharing.
Amaechi made this claim during an interview with DW on Saturday.
According to the former governor, the political crisis in Rivers State is not driven by ideology or governance but rather financial disputes.
“The fight between the current governor of Rivers State and the FCT minister is about sharing money. If not, what is the quarrel?” Amaechi questioned.
He also expressed concern over the apparent public indifference to corruption, stating, “Nigerians don’t dislike corruption anymore. I haven’t seen anyone on the streets questioning what the real issue is. Can both of them come forward and tell the public what the problem is about?”
Amaechi also criticized the emergency rule imposed on the state by President Bola Tinubu, describing it as unconstitutional.
