One of the suspects, 27-year-old Aniekan Uko, reportedly lured the children to an uncompleted building, drugged them, murdered them, and drained their blood.

A lawyer assisting with the police investigation, Linda Ojims, stated that the children were returning from church when Uko intercepted them and led them to the building.

She explained that he gave them a drink that rendered them unconscious before sexually assaulting and killing them.

Police spokesperson Grace Iringe-Koko confirmed the arrests in a statement on Wednesday, revealing that “officers from the Anti-Kidnapping Unit swiftly apprehended the main suspect and his accomplices on March 23, 2025.”

According to the police PRO, Uko admitted to the crime, saying he became involved in ritual killings after consulting a native doctor who performs similar rituals for others seeking wealth.

He was allegedly instructed to provide fresh human remains and blood for the rituals.

During the operation, officers recovered crucial evidence, including a bottle containing the victims’ blood, a kitchen knife used in the murder, an empty can of Black Bullet believed to have been used to drug the victims, and a spoon used to collect their blood
