The Ogun State Government has closed down Perfect Light Nursery and Primary School, located in Eyinogbe, Sagamu Local Government Area, following allegations of the sexual assault of a minor.

Reports suggest that the school’s proprietor sexually abused the child, causing significant injury and bleeding. The proprietor has since been arrested, and a police investigation is underway.

Ronke Soyombo, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Education, visited the school and expressed outrage over the alleged assault, as well as the poor conditions under which the students were being taught.

Soyombo assured the community that the state government, in collaboration with the Ogun State Police Command, is fully committed to investigating the incident and ensuring legal action is taken against the perpetrator.

She reiterated the administration’s dedication to improving educational conditions in both public and private schools, while stressing the importance of parents protecting their children from social vices.

The Special Adviser noted that the Ministry of Education, in partnership with the Ministries of Health and Women Affairs and Social Development, is working to conduct medical examinations to ensure the well-being of the victim.

Soyombo assured the affected child’s family that other students in the community would be enrolled in a nearby public school in Igode to continue their education without interruption. She also warned that the current administration would not tolerate such criminal acts and would hold perpetrators accountable.
