Obafemi Owode LG Welcomes New Olu of Imedu Nla: Charges Him On Peace and Progress

In a significant development for the Imedu Nla Community of Obafemi Owode Local Government, Jimoh Ishola Adegbenro Adebayo has been elected as the new Olu of Imedu Nla, marking a historic moment in the kingship of Ogun State. The election, which showcased the unity and maturity of the community, was celebrated with heartfelt congratulations from local leaders.


Ambassador Adesina 'Lanre Ogunsola, the Executive Chairman of the Obafemi Owode Local Government, extended his warmest congratulations to the Oba Elect, acknowledging the importance of this milestone as a return to the throne of his forefathers. "Your ascension to the throne is a testament to the community's commitment to tradition and leadership," Ogunsola remarked during the announcement.

The Council Chairman also commended the people of Imedu Nla for their cooperation and orderliness throughout the election process, emphasizing the need to continue fostering collaboration for the betterment of their community. "Your efforts have placed Imedu Nla among the esteemed towns with a Royal Father, and it is crucial that this spirit of unity persists," he stated.

In his address, Ambassador Ogunsola took the opportunity to advise the newly elected Olu of Imedu Nla to avoid the contentious issue of land grabbing, which has become increasingly prevalent in the region. He urged the new monarch to distance himself from any activities that could incite chaos or unrest during his reign. "Let me advise you to kindly desist from any matter that can cause discord in Imedu Nla," he cautioned, emphasizing the importance of a peaceful and harmonious rule.

Expressing gratitude towards the state government, Ogunsola thanked Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun, represented by the Honourable Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Ganiyu Hamzat. He highlighted the governor's visionary leadership and dedication to development across various sectors in Ogun State.

At the event, Hon. Ganiyu Hamzat also offered his congratulations to Oba Adebayo, commending him for successfully ascending to the throne. He encouraged the new Olu to embrace his role as a custodian of cultural heritage and urged the people of Imedu Nla to appreciate the support of the state government. "Cooperation and adherence to government policies are essential for the progress of our community," he advised.
