The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has stated that Nigerians will fully appreciate President Bola Tinubu’s leadership and contributions to democracy only in the coming decades.
Keyamo made this assertion in a birthday tribute to Tinubu on Saturday, describing the president as a visionary leader whose impact will be recognized by future generations.
According to Keyamo, Tinubu has played a crucial role in shaping Nigeria’s democratic landscape, from his efforts in the National Democratic Coalition (NADECO) to his role in forming the All Progressives Congress (APC).
“From an insider perspective, I dare say it will take decades before Nigerians truly and fully understand and appreciate the value President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has brought into our democratic space in all ramifications,” Keyamo said.
He further described Tinubu as a “master at fostering progressive coalitions for democratic advancement,” citing his instrumental role in the 2015 political shift that saw APC oust the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) from power.
Keyamo also highlighted Tinubu’s bold economic reforms, including the removal of fuel subsidies and the floating of the naira, as critical steps toward long-term economic stability.
“These are decisions that past governments avoided for political reasons, but Tinubu has taken the bull by the horns,” he said. “Our macroeconomic indicators are improving, and this will eventually create jobs and stabilize the middle class.”
He expressed optimism that under Tinubu’s leadership, Nigeria is now on a sustainable path of growth and development.
