The founder of Tantita Security Services Limited, Chief Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, alongside the Host Communities of Nigeria Producing Oil and Gas (HOSTCOM), has declared support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.
The endorsement was announced on Monday at a press conference in Abuja, led by HOSTCOM National President, Dr. Benjamin Tamaranebi, and other prominent allies of Tompolo.
Also present at the event were the Chairman of Traditional Rulers of the People of South-South, Chief Ese Omafuakpo; Chairman of the Council of Chiefs, Chief Obong Udo; and the Adua Tein 1 of Ijaw Izonbe, Timi Alale.
Speaking at the press conference, Tamaranebi stated that the decision to support Tinubu for a second term was unanimous among Niger Delta stakeholders, citing the President’s commitment to tackling critical issues affecting the region.
“There is no vacancy in Aso Rock,” Tamaranebi declared, emphasizing that Tinubu has successfully addressed long-standing economic challenges, particularly oil theft and pipeline vandalism—issues that had severely impacted Nigeria’s economy for decades.
He further highlighted that under Tinubu’s administration, the oil and gas sector, once in decline, has been revitalized.
“We, the leaders and indigenes of the Host Communities of Nigeria Producing Oil and Gas, in collaboration with our grand patron, High Chief (Dr) Government Ekpemupolo, alias Tompolo, are fully endorsing and committed to supporting Asiwaju Bola Tinubu for re-election in 2027,” Tamaranebi said.
According to him, Tinubu’s leadership has brought stability and development, particularly to the Niger Delta, and he needs more time to complete ongoing initiatives.
“The Tinubu administration is not just fixing the present; it is building the future,” he stated. “Alongside Tompolo, we endorse Tinubu for 2027. Our reason is simple: President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has delivered. He has steadied the ship, empowered local communities, and deserves more time to finish what he started. Politics is about choices.”
He argued that meaningful national development requires continuity, stressing that no leader can fully implement long-term reforms within just four years.
Tamaranebi also urged President Tinubu to intervene in the ongoing political crisis in Rivers State, particularly following the recent proclamation of emergency rule in the state.
“We appeal to Mr. President, as the father of the nation, to use his good offices to ensure an amicable resolution of the political imbroglio in Rivers State,” he said.
He called on all factions involved in the conflict to embrace peace for the benefit of the people, expressing confidence that Tinubu has the capacity to restore stability.
“We trust Mr. President to resolve this crisis and bring lasting peace to the state. Even his detractors are now better informed, as he has silenced critics and transformed the landscape of our beloved country for good,” he added.
