Fatai Odunsi, the father of Nigerian music star Asake, has confirmed that he and his son have resolved their differences after a period of estrangement.
Odunsi, who had previously expressed disappointment over Asake’s lack of financial support despite his success, shared in a recent video that they have now reconciled.
Speaking in Yoruba in a video posted on Sunday by Mrlilgaga, Odunsi expressed pride in his son and showered him with prayers.
“I am proud of him,” he declared, confirming that all past grievances had been settled.
He explained that his initial frustration stemmed from the long gap since he last saw his son.
“His mother ought to ask him when last he saw me. That was what got me angry, but we have sorted all the problems. We are no longer fighting,” he said.
Odunsi also revealed that Asake has made arrangements to buy him a new house, with house agents already searching for a suitable property.
“Asake said he will do everything that I want. We have settled, no more problems. They are now looking for a new house that he will buy for me. He has settled everything,” he added.
Additionally, Odunsi confirmed that Asake has taken full responsibility for his 11-year-old daughter, Zeenat.
“He has never denied his child, but he has now promised to take full responsibility for her,” he stated.
The elderly man further disclosed that Asake had provided him with everything he needed for his medical treatment, and he would be visiting the hospital the following day.
