See what stakeholders in Sports are expecting from NFF in 2025

Amebo Newspaper recently had a chat with Nigeria Stakeholders to get their views on way forward for Super Eagles in 2025.Here are what they said that Nigerian Football Federation should do so there will be better result.

My name is Powood Ikechukwu ,
I am a Sports Consultant and International Football Manager.Manage and Mentor Talents. My area of specialisations, soccer players. President of Diadem Group international, Diadem Citizenry, Diadem Academy International, etc.

The technology and mechanism of stability in our Super Eagles must be based on three dynamic factors, long term , short term medium time , projection and promotion, engagement of Super Eagles Coach is one, the devil you they say is better than the angel you don't know, my view about the Super Eagles Chief Coach must be our own men, Ex -internationals who has paid the price. Playing for Nigeria should also get the coaching prize , few of them has shown capacity and capability in Junior National cadar, groomed the present set of Super Eagles players, i Powood personally was training and encouraging Samuel Chukwueze Kelechi Nwakali and others, at Diamond and lead them to the National U-17, for the first time and was received by , MON, Emmanuel Amunike, i remember when Emmanuel Amunike was telling them then that will be the next set of players that will break the phenomenal and monumental USA "94, Squad , they had exclusive philosophy, they won world U-17, back to back, why NFF can't give such a man the Super Eagles job, ex. African best player that discover and develop another African best in the person of Osimen Victor, give home boy Coach the coaching job with long time contract and respect the contract and pay him well, the benefits and advantage is enormous.

The second factor is players invitation must be transparent and professional, you can't ignore a player playing first team in a big League and extend invitations to a consistent bench warmer, invitation must be based on contemporary and present form, not past glory in modern football names don't win matches and laurels.

The third factor is marketing Super Eagles to become attractive brand , top notch international friendly is needed and kits color, that defined our National flag not describing our colors, no player is bigger than the country if you are not in shape and you aren't playing, no chance, no matter your past contribution, when you start playing you will get and invite, finally NFF must show commitment to prompt payment of allowances and match bonus, insurance to these players so that they will understand why they should put their life and career on line, incase of injury etc, motivation and appreciation can wake up a dead duck.

My name is Marcello Anyanwu ,Assistant Coach and Head Scout of Gulf United Football Cub Dubai UAE.

The Super Eagles get the job done and seal the ticket for CHAN set for Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania next February.

Thanks to Coach Daniel Ogunmmodede & Coach Fidelis Ilechukwu for job well done.

As a stakeholder in Nigeria Football my interest in round leather game is sacrosanct,
When things goes wrong I speak, when it goes well I applaud .
No hard feelings, Football is beyond play.

As a Grassroot Football Advocate and currently the brand Ambassador of NNL.
I have always advocated for the inclusion of home base players in the National Team, in the past we have seen Home base doing massively in the National colours of Super Eagles.

Vincent Enyeama, Chibuzor Okoronkwo and Sunday Mbah.Last weekend victory of the home base Eagles has vindicated my submission.

The task ahead are enormous, it could be recalled that last time Nigeria participated in CHAN they lost woefully in the finals 4-0 against Morocco. Their coaches should solidify the defence line and make sure it's good. There was miscalculation and poor positioning of the defenders during the last game.

The Nigeria Football Federation should open 6 weeks camp for the players 3 weeks in Nigeria and 3 weeks
a.
The players and coaches be motivated and encouraged go all out there and bring the trophy home.

Emmanuel Ndubuisi, South Africa based Coach told Amebo Newspaper that" I feel like the main Super Eagles team has been under performing, considering their current position in the world cup group. They didn't started well as much as expected from them.
This is as a result of poor coaching. Poor tactics and lack of hunger among the team.

I will like to say that there are some players that should not be invited again due to their poor performance and inability to deliver.

We have a very intimidating square ,but still we struggle a lot to win games. Take a look at teams like Senegal, Morocco how they win games etc.

So I think the NFF, should urgently get us a sound and tactical coach to help the team to regain back what their are known for. Our Super Eagles are no longer a treat to other teams, though I know that there is a lot of development in Africa football currently.

Furthermore,if the NFF truly wants the Super Eagles to play in the next world and not to miss out. Then something very serious has to be done about the appointment of the new head coach.

My name is King David Oku- I'm the President and founder of the Monday and David Foundation an NGO in Nigeria committed to helping people. I'm also a journalist passionate about driving advocacy and awareness campaigns to address societal issues among young people.

I am passionate about Football development and administration, and I believe our Federation can enhance youth Football by utilizing the impactful programs.

Transparency and accountability in public service are essential. The administration of the NFF should embrace open-mindedness in fulfilling their responsibilities.

The Nigerian league will improve when there is a deliberate effort by stakeholders, private investors and the government to transform the broadcasting section, player welfare, training for officials, accessible roads, stadium infrastructure, security, and media coverage.

Nigerian Football will be very busy this year with a host of key qualification matches and tournaments set to be played in 2025. The Super Eagles are in a precarious position and have to start collecting points to stand any chance of making it to the World Cup in 2026. We have a very good crop with enough quality so we could easily put out two to three teams and still perform. This was evident at the AFCON in Cote d'Ivoire as we played a great tournament. I will suggest the Federation distract the distraction in the camp of the players to allow them focus and arrive on match days without any issues. The Federation should also ensure prompt settlement of pending allowances and bonuses to encourage the players.

The Super Falcons were decent in 2024 with only a catastrophic Olympic outing in Paris the blemish. But that tournament revealed a lot as some players were spent and would have to make do with bit part roles moving forward. I'm pleased with the response of the Federation to inject fresh young impetus into the team and to give leading roles to others to make an impact. I understand more friendlies will commence this year to put them in shape ahead of the WAFCON in Morocco so that commendable. Just like the Eagles the Falcons have to be attended to promptly as per welfare and others. Our ladies deserve all the best.
