This weekend, Abubakar Bukola Saraki Ilorin Football Club (ABS Ilorin FC) will face off against newcomers Godswill Akpabio FC of Uyo in a highly anticipated Nigeria National League (NNL) matchday Five clash.

The encounter would take place at the mainbow of the Kwara State Stadium Complex on Saturday, 11th January 2025.

ABS Ilorin FC is riding high after their impressive 5-2 victory over Abakiliki FC on matchday two of the NNL 2024/2025 season. Following a postponed matchday three clash against Mandiba FC of Lagos, before being drawn by week four, the team is eager to build on the momentum from the week two victory and secure yet another home win.

Godswill Akpabio FC, on the other hand, will be seeking to consolidate their 2-1 win over Mandiba FC last weekend, which marked their first victory of the season.

The Akwa Ibom-based club, founded by former Governor of Akwa Ibom state and current Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, has had a mixed start to the season, with one win, two draws, and one loss from four matches.

This matchup will be the first meeting between the two clubs, and ABS Ilorin FC coach, Sani Sarduana, is optimistic about his team's chances. "We're looking forward to tomorrow's game, and I'm confident that we'll come out with a win," he said.

ABS Ilorin FC currently occupies the eighth position in the standings with three points from two games, while Godswill Akpabio FC sits in fourth place in Conference B with five points from four matches.
