The House of Representatives is in mourning following the sudden passing of Rt. Hon. Oriyomi Adewunmi Onanuga, affectionately known as Ijaya. His colleague, Rt. Hon. Ibrahim Ayokunle Isiaka, expressed profound sorrow over the loss, which occurred on Wednesday, January 15, 2025.
In a heartfelt tribute, Isiaka described Onanuga as a dedicated and brilliant legislator who made significant contributions to the green chamber during her tenure. He praised her extensive knowledge, unwavering commitment to public service, and her ability to engage with constituents on pressing issues that affected their lives. Onanuga's legislative prowess and her passion for her community earned her respect from colleagues and constituents alike.
“I am deeply saddened by the news of Hon. Oriyomi Adewunmi Onanuga’s passing,” Isiaka remarked. “She was not just a colleague; she was a friend and a source of inspiration to many of us in the House.
