The Executive Chairman of Yewa North Local Government, Hon. Olusola Akinbode, Ph.D., has appealed to the management of Dangote Cement Factory in Ibese to establish a trailer park aimed at enhancing traffic flow and reducing illegal parking, road blockages, and preventable accidents in the area.
This request was made during a recent familiarization tour where Dr. Akinbode evaluated the cement plant's impact on the local community. He praised Dangote Cement for its adherence to environmental regulations and for upholding the company's vision.
Highlighting Ogun State's status as a prime investment destination in Nigeria, Dr. Akinbode credited Governor Dapo Abiodun's leadership for fostering an environment conducive to business growth. He assured Dangote Cement of the local government's support in fostering peaceful cohabitation and development within the surrounding communities.
In response, the Plant Director, Roy Uttam, expressed appreciation to the state government and reaffirmed the plant's commitment to environmental compliance and the well-being of the local populace.
Mr. Ademola Ojolowo, Head of Social Performance at Dangote Cement Plant, Ibese, noted that the company has significantly increased its social contributions to better the lives of local residents, focusing on health, education, empowerment, and infrastructure development. He confirmed that plans are in place to construct a trailer park on a substantial area of land, with the capacity to accommodate over 500 trucks simultaneously.
