Obafemi-Owode, Ogun State – In a display of unwavering commitment to the development of his community, Ambassador Ogunsola Lanrewaju Adesina, the executive chairman of Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area, has announced the continuation of his ambitious infrastructure projects. As he embarks on his second term, Ogunsola aims to elevate the standards of living for the over 1.2 million residents spread across approximately 1,204 towns and villages within this agriculturally rich region.
The land mass of Obafemi-Owode, spanning 135,774 square kilometers, is predominantly composed of the Egba ethnic group, where the Yoruba language, particularly the Egba dialect, thrives. This cultural uniqueness, coupled with the area's agricultural potential, creates a compelling backdrop for Ogunsola’s initiatives aimed at fostering growth and development.
During his first term, Ambassador Ogunsola earned accolades for his progressive approach to governance, particularly in health, education, infrastructure, resident security, and social welfare. His administration's focus on these critical areas transformed Obafemi-Owode into a model local government, often cited as the most performing in Nigeria. Various organizations recognized his efforts, bestowing awards that celebrated his achievements despite the limited financial resources typically allocated to local governments.
“It is a privilege to serve the people of Obafemi-Owode,” Ogunsola stated in a recent interview. “My first term laid the groundwork, and now, I am determined to build upon that foundation with even greater resolve. Our people deserve the best, and I will ensure that our infrastructure projects meet their needs.”
Under his leadership, the local government has prioritized the development of roads, schools, healthcare facilities, and security systems. These projects not only enhance the quality of life for residents but also stimulate economic growth, making the region more attractive to investors.
Ambassador Ogunsola’s human relations skills have been pivotal in his governance style. He has made it a point to engage directly with community members, fostering a sense of unity and understanding. This approach has allowed him to identify the most pressing needs of the residents and tailor his projects accordingly.
As he sets forth on this new chapter, Ogunsola is keen on raising the bar even higher. “We will not rest on our laurels. Our vision for Obafemi-Owode is one of progress and innovation. I want to make a lasting impact that future generations will benefit from,” he affirmed.
The people of Obafemi-Owode are optimistic about the future, rallying behind their chairman’s vision. With his track record of success and a fervent commitment to community development, Ambassador Ogunsola Lanrewaju Adesina stands poised to lead Obafemi-Owode into a new era of growth and prosperity.
