Funsho Adeoti Breaks Silence Amid Backlash Over Mercy Aigbe’s Property Loss

Funsho Adeoti, the first wife of Nollywood filmmaker Kazim Adeoti, has shared a reflective post on Instagram following backlash over her earlier Thanksgiving message. The U.S.-based mother of four emphasized the importance of gratitude in all circumstances, quoting the Bible to reinforce her message.

“1 Thessalonians 5:18 says, ‘In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning us.’ Thankful in all circumstances, even when those circumstances are difficult.”

Funsho’s post comes in the wake of criticism she received for sharing a message of thanksgiving hours after her husband’s second wife, Mercy Aigbe, reportedly lost property worth millions of naira in a fire incident. Despite the time difference between her location and Nigeria, some netizens labeled her post as ill-timed and insensitive, given Mercy’s loss.

However, others rallied in her defense, pointing out that Funsho frequently shares messages of gratitude on her platform and suggesting her intentions were not related to the tragic event.

Mercy Aigbe, on her part, took to social media to express gratitude for the overwhelming support she received. “I am truly touched by the calls, messages, and prayers,” Mercy wrote, acknowledging the immense love shown to her during this trying time.

The fire incident, which resulted in the loss of valuable property, remains shrouded in mystery as details of the event have not been disclosed. Despite the tension online, fans continue to show support for both women, with many focusing on spreading positivity during the difficult period.
