ABEOKUTA CITY — In a bid to empower and unite the youths of Ogun State and just like it's obtainable in almost all the 36 States of our Country, a visionary leader, Hon.(Prince) OLOWOLAGBA AbdulHakeem Olajuwon alongside some other well-meaning Youths of the Gateway State, has established the Ogun State Youth Parliament (OGYP). This groundbreaking initiative aims to provide a platform for the youth of Ogun State, both at home and in the diaspora, to come together, engage in meaningful dialogue, and have a collective voice in shaping the future of their communities.
The Ogun State Youth Parliament is a beacon of hope for the young people of the state, offering them a space to express their ideas, concerns, and aspirations.Under the dynamic leadership of Hon.(Prince) OLOWOLAGBA, the parliament has already begun to make significant strides in empowering the youth and advocating for their rights and interests.
Through various programs and initiatives, the OGYP is working tirelessly to address the challenges facing the youth of Ogun State, including unemployment, lack of access to quality education, and limited opportunities for personal and professional growth. By fostering a sense of unity and solidarity among the youth, the parliament is paving the way for a brighter and more prosperous future for all.
In his speech,he said "The Ogun State Youth Parliament is envisioned as a Youth legislative body designed to represent the voices,interests and aspirations of the young people of Ogun State.It will serve as the legislative arm of the Youth Constituency and as a platform where Youths between the ages of 18 and 35 can deliberate on issues affecting them and contribute to the policy-making process by forwarding recommendations to the Ogun State House of Assembly."He also makes it clear that "The Parliament shall mirror the structure and be a shadow of the Ogun State House of Assembly with representatives from all the 26 State Constituencies".
Hon.(Prince) OLOWOLAGBA AbdulHakeem Olajuwon, a passionate advocate for youth empowerment, has dedicated himself to ensuring that the voices of the youth are heard and respected. His visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to the welfare of the youth have inspired many to join the Ogun State Youth Parliament and be part of this transformative movement.
As the OGYP continues to grow and expand its reach, it calls on all the youths of Ogun State and beyond to join hands and work together towards a common goal. Through their collective efforts and shared vision, the youth of Ogun State are poised to make a lasting impact and shape a brighter tomorrow for generations to come.Hence,calling on the State Government especially the Ogun State House of Assembly to adopt this platform for a better democratic dispensation.
