Obafemi-Owode LG Chairman, Amb. Ogunsola Lanrewaju Adesina, Alake, Olu Of Orile Imo Lays Foundation Of Ultra Modern Police Station

In a significant move to bolster security in the region, Amb. Adesina 'Lanre Ogunsola, the Executive Chairman of Obafemi Owode Local Government Area, joined His Royal Highness, Oba Oluwambe Mofolorunso Sogaolu, Olu of Orile Imo, to lay the foundation for an ultra-modern police station in Orile Imo. This initiative reflects a growing commitment to ensuring the safety of lives and properties in a community that serves as a vital link between Lagos, Sagamu, Ibadan, and Abeokuta.

During the foundation-laying ceremony, Amb. Ogunsola emphasized the urgent need to prioritize security, especially given the area's status as a central business hub with shared borders with Lagos and Oyo States. He highlighted the keen interest of His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, in the project, which aligns with the state government's zero tolerance for crime and unrest. This collaboration with private partners aims to provide essential infrastructure and equipment to support law enforcement efforts in reducing crime rates.

Oba Sogaolu articulated the necessity of the new police station, underscoring its role in enhancing security coverage in Orile Imo. The project aims to alleviate the pressure on the existing Owode Egba Police Division, addressing local security challenges in an area that is rapidly developing with numerous operational and under-construction companies. The completion of the police station is expected by the second quarter of 2025, fully equipped to support the police force.

Plans for the station include establishing a Security Trust Fund to facilitate the provision of essential equipment, such as motorbikes and vehicles, to enhance surveillance and patrols in the area. This initiative aims to empower the police force to better serve the community, ensuring a safe environment for all residents.

The ceremony was graced by notable figures, including His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo, Alake of Egbaland, who praised the developmental achievements in Orile Imo since Oba Sogaolu's ascension to the throne. He encouraged other royal leaders to foster similar progress in their communities, promoting peace and unity across Egbaland and Ogun State.

ACP Ade Adedeji, the Area Commander of the Nigeria Police Force, represented the Commissioner of Police, CP. Abiodun Alamutu, at the event. He commended the initiative to build the police station, recognizing it as a vital effort to complement the government's and police force's mission to maintain a peaceful environment. His gratitude extended to Amb. Ogunsola for his unwavering support for law enforcement.

The event also saw the presence of other esteemed royal fathers, including Oba Sowemimo, Olu of Owode, and Oba Odeyinka Laurence, Olu of Siun, among others, all united in the common goal of fostering safety and development within the community.
