Nigeria's hardship make me go into music ---AJ City Super Star Singer



Meet MC Smoke's Starboy from AJ City who is an upcoming musical artist who will love to collaborate with Eedris  Abdul Kareem recently chatted with Esther Egbe of Amebo Newspaper  he spoke about his career and more.

Can we meet you?
My name is Saheed Jamiu aka Sham Sodium. I'm from Lagos State.I was born and brought up at Ajegunle.we are eight in numbers in my family and I'm the second child.

How did you get into music? 
I got into music because of the hardship of our  dear country Nigeria.Our leaders are wicked.The situation of Nigeria made me go into music.
Who are your mentors?
 My mentors are Fela Anikulaopo kuti and Eedris Abdul Kareem.

 What is your background, and creative process?
I can't really say,but I can say my background is from the Ghetto. I'm from ghetto area which is the street of Ajegunle struggling and trying to survive.

What inspired you to pursue music?
The hardship of the  economy inspired me into making  music. 

How would you describe your musical style?
My style of music is reality song, I will call it Afro-Reality Music.

How has it evolved over time?  
I will keep pushing it .I believe all will get on track.

How do you approach songwriting? 
I approach songwriting by study the environment and our economy.


 What role does collaboration play in your creative process? 
No,collaboration and I believe it will be good for me as an upcoming musical artist. 

 What do you like most about playing music?
 I think I like every role, because I love listening to every kind of music to get my own inspiration too.I  can't mention particular thing  .

What's your favorite venue for performances?
My favourite venue is O2 Arena  and I believe one day I will shut O2 down with fans.

What's your most challenging performance?
I didn't have shoes to wear for a show and I had to put on sleeper to perform  .

Do you enjoy collaborating with other musicians? 
Yes. I will like  to collaborate with Eedris Abdul Kareem .

What do you believe is your greatest strength as a musician? 
I will love to take my type of music to world .

How do you deal with negative feedback? 
I just ignore negative feedback.I focus on what makes me 

 What instruments do you play?
I can play any kind of instrument. 

What genres are you comfortable with?
I am very comfortable with any genres.
