As Bendel Insurance Football Club prepares to host Plateau United in the MatchDay 15 of the Nigeria Premier Football League, the Edo All Progressives Congress Chairman Emperor Jaret Tenebe has redeemed his $3000 Pledge to the team.
The secretary of the Benin Arsenals Charles Ihimekpen confirmed Insurance FC's receipt of the money this afternoon. He expressed the Benin Arsenal's appreciation to the donor saying that the club sees the gift as a huge motivation for the players.
" .The APC Chairman Jaret Tenebe has redeemed his pledge of 3,000 dollars to us and we are grateful to him. He promised to give us the money as a gift should we win at Nasarawa but we lost the match 2-1 but the Chief Tenebe told us not to feel bad that he was still going to give us the money to further motivate us ahead of the next match, and today, he has redeemed his vows. "
The APC leader Emperor Jaret Tenebe who led Edo State Government Delegation to Lafia,Nasarawa state to support Bendel Insurance in the Nigeria Premier Football League match against Nasarawa United on Wednesday promised to redeem the sum of $3000 (Three Thousand Dollars) he promised Bendel Insurance FC players despite suffering a 2-1 defeat in the hands of the hosts.
Emperor Tenene made the promise in a chat with sports journalists immediately after the Match Day 14 encounter at the Lafia City Stadium on Wednesday evening.
" Despite the fact that my team lost 2-1 to Nasarawa Utd,I will still give them the $3000 Dollars. I announced the amount as rewards for them just to motivate them. I watched the game from the beginning to the end and I was impressed with the performance of our team. It was a good game and I think our players need more encouragement. I made the promise and not the Edo state government and I will still redeem my pledge because they played very well. " He said
Bendel Insurance FC are currently battling to come out of the red zone and are in need of more support and motivation from the state government and other stakeholders in Edo State and beyond.
The Benin Arsenals host Plateau Utd in the Match Day 15 on Saturday, November 30,2024 in Benin. Kick off time is 4PM.
