Woman Arrested in Ogun for Inflicting Injury On Husband’s Genitals During Domestic Dispute

The Ogun State Police Command has arrested Yemisi Ogunlana for allegedly inflicting severe injuries on her husband's genital area with a sharp object during a disagreement.

In a statement issued on Monday in Abeokuta, SP Omolola Odutola, the Command's spokesperson, confirmed the incident. According to Odutola, the Divisional Police Officer of Ogijo Division reported that 31-year-old Idowu Adebowale from Oko Oba came to the station to file a complaint of attempted murder.

Adebowale stated that around 4:30 a.m. on October 15, his wife, 28-year-old Ogunlana Yemisi, used a sharp object to inflict a deep cut near the tip of his penis during what he described as a minor disagreement. He showed the injury to the officers upon reporting the case.

In response, detectives were dispatched to the scene, and Ogunlana was arrested. Although she denied the allegations during questioning, the severity of the injury prompted the police to issue a medical form for Adebowale, urging him to seek immediate medical attention, as he had delayed treatment.

Odutola further explained that the suspect remains in custody and the case will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Abeokuta for further investigation. She indicated that the incident appears to be a case of domestic violence driven by uncontrollable anger.
