Lagos Open Water Swimming Tournament officially open

Lagos Open Water Swimming Tournament is an Olympics Games event in Long Distance Swimming Championship ( Marathon Swimming) with lots of participants annually in World Aquatics Championship, International and Local Swim meets and Open Water Swimlimpics, Amebo newspaper learnt.

 The last edition in Dec 2023 was 5km and about 45 swimmers participated at the NPA Marina Jetty, Lagos Island. 

This year edition will be 8km , coming up in November 23rd 2024 , 

While our focus for next year will be 10km, which is the Olympics measurement .

The event is already endorsed by the Nigeria Olympics Committee (NOC) , and will be coming up at LASWA Jetty besides MTN Head office, Falomo, Ikoyi. 

Over 100 elite swimmers participated in the qualifying trials that took place at various divisions in Lagos State (Badagry, Ikorodu, ibeju  and Epe).
