Utility Warriors Emerges Winner of Kaymoni Football Competition


Chants of "Stand up for the champions" rented the air at Ibiade Comprehensive High School, Agodo-Ibiade, today as the Kaymoni football competition came to an exciting conclusion with Utility Warriors emerging as the winner. 

The team took home the grand prize of ₦150,000 and was also awarded customized jerseys by the sponsor of the competition and APC chairmanship aspirant for Ogun Waterside Local Government in the forthcoming elections, Hon. Obipehin Kayode, popularly known as Kaymoni.

In a keenly contested final match, Utility Warriors' Saviour scored the winning goal, making him the highest goal scorer of the competition with 5 goals. 

Kaymoni congratulated the Utility Warriors and described the team's victory as well-deserved.

He pledged to build a mini stadium in Ogun Waterside to promote sports development in the local government if he emerges as the winner of the forthcoming elections in Ogun Waterside.

According to Kaymoni, the mini stadium, which will feature facilities for various sports such as football, boxing, swimming, gymnastics, and long jump, is expected to expose local talents to the international community and bring growth to the area. 

He emphasized the importance of partnership with the federal and state ministries of sport to achieve this goal.

The competition, which saw Unity Football Club of Ibiade emerge as runners-up with a prize of ₦100,000, Ayomide FC of Ita-Otu as third-place winners with ₦50,000 and officiating referees with ₦250, 000 was attended by dignitaries including Hon. Damilola Otubanjo, SSA to Governor Dapo Abiodun on SDG and Special Duties, and Alhaji Musa Maruf, former Chief Whip of Ogun State House of Assembly.

Kaymoni appreciated the support of Hon. Damilola Otubanjo and pledged to fulfill his campaign manifesto if elected as Chairman of the Local Government. 

The event was also graced by CSP Ogundele Joseph Olaniyi,  Divisional Police Officer of Ogun Waterside, Mr. Musibau Salami, Mr. Keke Kabiru, Mr. Adebanjo Ibidunni (Mosco) Hon. Ibraheem Eleda and other notable personalities.
