The Emir of Biu, Alhaji (Dr.) Mustafa Umar Mustafa II, CON has reiterated the need for national unity amidst the diverse issues plaguing the country.
The Emir led the powerful delegation of powerful Nigerians to the epoch making 60th celebration of the Olowu of Kuta, His Royal Majesty, Oba Dr Adekunle Oyelude Makama CON, Tegbosun (111) highlighted the essence of national unity and advocated for traditional rulers collaboration for national development , and cultural exchanges..
He made the call during his interactions with dignitaries at the event that was attended by cross section of eminent Nigerians, which included, Former President Olusegun Obasanjo, representative of the Governor of Osun State, the Former Governor of Osun State, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, the Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Ojaja 11, who led an array of Traditional rulers across the SouthWest States, which included the Ataoja Of Osogbo, the Timi of Ede, the Okere of Saki, the Olowu of Owu, the Osun G 12 Traditional rulers led by their President, Oba Adedokun Abolarinwa and others.
Aside that, he also extolled the celebrant, the Olowu of Kuta for being a detribalised Nigerian and commended him for his commitment in fostering peace, stability and harmony in his domain. The Emir of Biu equally presented souvenirs to the Olowu of Kuta and the Ooni of Ife, where he extended his hand of friendship on behalf of the Biu Emirate to the Ooni of Ife.
It would be recalled that the ancient town of Kuta was ago on Sunday, 14 July, 2024, as Olowu of Kuta, His Royal Majesty Oba Dr Hameed Adekunle Makama Oyelude, CON, Tegbosun III, received dignitaries across Nigeria to celebrate his 60th birthday anniversary.
Prominent among the dignitaries were former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo; Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke; former Governor of Osun State, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola; former Chief of Army Staff, Gen TY Buratai rtd who also doubles as Balogun Agba Akin of Kuta; and the Executive Chairman of Federal Character Commission, Dr Muheeba Dankaka.
Traditional rulers at the ceremony include: Ooni of Ife, HIM Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Olowu of Owu (Abeokuta) Oba Prof Saka Matemilola, Timi of Ede, HRM Oba Munirudeen Lawal and Emir of Biu, Alhaji Midala Mustapha Umar amongst others.
