NSCDC Warns Youth Against Being Used For The Planned June 12 Protest

 

NIGERIA SECURITY AND CIVIL DEFENCE CORPS, ZONE F COMMAND HEADQUARTERS

Commandant Abidemi Majekodunmi on behalf of the Zonal Commander, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Zone F Command gave a stern warning to Nigerian youths to stay away from the proposed June 12 rally that is scheduled to hold on Wednesday June 12, 2024.

According to the statement signed by DSC Olaleye T.S, The Zonal Public Relations Officer, CC Majekodunmi further reiterated the express directive of the NSCDC Commandant General, Dr Ahmed Abubakar Audi, mni, OFR that subterranean and disgruntled forces must not be allowed to violate the constitutional ground norms of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. 

He emphasised that although the economic situation of the country might be a little bit tough but, that should not be a yardstick to allowing themselves to be used in causing commotion, mayhem and public disorder.

According to him, Intelligence reports have shown that miscreants and unscrupulous elements intend to hijack the peaceful protests thereby causing breach of peace, disruption of law and order, looting and vandalization of public property, etc.

He equally advised Commandants within the Zone F formation to synergize with other sister agencies in making sure officers are stationed in critical places within their respective states so as to provide maximum security for critical government assets, schools,  property and lives of citizens against molestation and harassment. 

In his statement "we will not fold our arms and allow the planned June 12 proposed protest to cause break down of law and disorder. Parents should warn their children and wards very well".

He made it clear to officers to make sure they carry out their assignment in accordance to  standard of operations and world best practises. 

He further admonished 'any  officer caught in the act of denying residents of their constitutional human rights will be dealt with accordingly'. 

He assured citizens that the Corps and other sister agencies are committed and ever ready to give them the best in making sure they are secured.

He pleaded with the public also to help security agencies by providing real time and adequate information that will help in getting rid of criminal elements within the society as this will promote citizenship and community- security partnership.
