The Acting Zonal Commander of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Zone F Command, CC Abidemi Majekodunmi has directed the State Commandants of Ogun and Oyo Commands to mandate their Divisional Officers, Area Commanders, Operational, Tactical, Special Squads and Intelligence Heads to live up to the core responsibilities of the Corps and also provide maximum security to citizens within their jurisdictions before, during and after the sallah celebration and festivities.
In a statement released by the Zonal PRO, DSC Olaleye Tunde, the Acting Zonal Commander stated that "the Commandant General, Dr Ahmed Abubakar Audi, mni, OFR has directed that the Corps must provide adequate security to members of the public, praying grounds, entertainment/ event centres and critical national assets and infrastructure before, during and after the festival.
He stated that the directives given by the CG have been passed to the respective Commandants to ensure that members of the Armed Squad, CTU, Intelligence, Agro Rangers, Special Forces and Female Squads be deployed and maintain optimum alert status during the celebrations.
He emphatically stated that negligence of duty by officers will not be tolerated nor entertained. "You must be dedicated, commited and ensure you act diligently while on the assignment.
Personnel are to ensure that they serve with utmost humility and provide excellent service. He mandated that professionalism and strict adherence to rules of engagement must be followed by all personnel.
Members of the public are also expected to make sure they give timely information that are very viable and credible to the Corps and other security agencies, especially on hideouts of miscreants and hot spots as this will further strengthen collaboration on public security. Law breakers will be made to face the full wrath of the law as there would be no sacred cows.
According to CC Majekodunmi, the Commandant General felicitate with all muslim faithfuls and wish them a most memorable sallah celebration and further enjoin them to have a hitch free eid il kabir.
