Ogbomoso South Councillors elect Tunji Alao as House Leader, 3 other Principal Officers

The newly elected Councillors of Ogbomoso South Local Government have elected Hon. Tunji Stephen Alao as House leader following the inauguration of the legislative arm by the Chairman of the Council, Hon. Oyedokun Oyeniyi Timothy, popularly known as OOT, on Monday.

The House which equally elected Hon. Mudashiru Ibrahim as Deputy Leader, also announced Hon. Taiwo Ogunmola as Majority Leader while Hon. Abolade bosun emerged as the Chief Whip.

This was made known on Tuesday by the Spokesman of the House, Hon. AKinsola James Olushola while speaking with journalists in Ogbomoso. 

According to him, following the proclamation by the council boss at the Lagbami Osekun Hall, Ogbomoso South, the House commenced proceedings with the election of principal officers at Alao Akala legislative Hall. 

Hon. Tunji Alao, councilor representing Ward 02, emerged as the Leader of the House, as well as three other principal officers unopposed. 

According to Olushola, the 10 councillors inaugurated by the Council chairman were (Ward 1 Ibrahim Mudashiru); (Ward 2 Alao Stephen Olatunji); (Ward 03 Alade onabisi abigeal); (Ward 04 Ogunmola Taiwo Sunday); (Ward 05 Oyebamiji Samuel); (Ward 06 Adel-eye Folaranmi Adeyeye); (Ward 07 Abolade Solomon Oyekola); (Ward 08 Bolade olatunbosun); (Ward 09 Shittu Jamiu); (Ward 10 Akinsola James olusola).

A number of notable people were present at the inauguration ceremony, he continued, including Career Officers, HLA, DGas, the Onpetu of Ijeru land, Baale Ibapon, Hon. Taiwo Alagbe, Baba Olamoyegun; Hon. Taiwo Akanno; Hon. Rotimi Oladipo; Engr. Damilare Amusan; Hon. Mrs Doja Agbejimi; Aremo Busari as well as past leaders since 1999 and members of PDP. 

During the proclamation of the local government legislative arm, the Executive Chairman, Hon. Timothy, said the event is as important as the survival and success of the administration for without which we will not have the legal or constitutional backing for our policies, programmes, initiations and implementations.

He called for cooperation, teamwork and dedication of all stakeholders to move the local government forward. 

“We pledge to work collaboratively and tirelessly to drive forward the progress and prosperity of our beloved local government”, Oyedokun said.
