Ogun State House of Assembly has been urged to take advantage of their unity of purpose to promote mutual interdependence among all arms in a democracy to sustain the socio-economic development of the State.
Top members of the State traditional council including the Awujale and Paramount ruler of Ijebuland, Oba (Dr.) Sikiru Kayode Adetona, Akarigbo of Remoland, Oba Babatunde Ajayi and the Alake and Paramount ruler of Egbaland, Oba ( Dr.) Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo, gave the charge, while receiving the entire Assembly members led by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Oludaisi Elemide, during a courtesy call by the lawmakers on the traditional rulers in Ijebu-Ode, Sagamu and Abeokuta.
The Paramount rulers commended the lawmakers for the seamless manner through which they elected their new leadership, acknowledging that their visit was first of its kind.
They urged the lawmakers to take advantage of their unity in collaborating with the executive arm to further advance the overall development of the State.
Earlier in his remarks, the Speaker said that the entire State lawmakers decided to carry out the familiarisation visit to the monarchs to identify with them and tap on their wisdom.
According to the Speaker, the monarchs' wealth of experience in the administration of their various communities were worthy of acknowledgement and should be learnt by the lawmakers in keeping abreast with the demands of their constituents.
