Ramadan: Tinubu doing everything possible to reduce hardship – SGF, Akume

As Muslim faithful commence the holy month of Ramadan, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume has assured that President Bola Tinubu is not resting on his oars to reduce the burden of hardship brought upon them since the removal of fuel subsidy.

The SGF in a message of felicitation to Muslims in Nigeria asked the faithful to observe the holy month of Ramadan in accordance with the teachings of the Prophet, S.A.W, as enshrined in the Holy Qur’an.

He emphasised the need for Muslims to use the occasion of the fast to pray for peace, unity, prosperity and stability in the nation.

The SGF message read thus, “The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Sen. George Akume, on behalf of the Federal Executive Council (FEC), expresses best wishes to the Muslim faithful on the sighting of the moon which signals the commencement of the month-long Ramadan fast.

“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is doing everything in his capacity to reduce the burden caused by the removal of fuel subsidy which advertently affected the cost of living.

“I urge the Muslim faithful to observe the holy month of Ramadan in accordance with the teachings of the Prophet (S.A.W) as enshrined in the Holy Qur’an including the need to use the occasion of the fast to pray for peace, unity, prosperity and stability of the nation.

” I wish all Muslim faithful a successful fasting season!
