Former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo has joined other well meaning Nigerians to congratulates Alhaja Lateefa Kolapo on her conferment as the new Iyalode Musulumi of Egbaland.
In his goodwill message, Obasanjo eulogizes the media icon, saying that the recognition reflects the sterling
leadership qualities that he noticed in her over the years.
"Congratulations, my daughter on your
installation as the lyalode of Egba Muslims today, Saturday, January 13, 2024.
"The recognition reflects the sterling
leadership qualities that I have noticed in you over the years. I rejoice with you as a devout Muslim, a veteran journalist and a great pride of Egbaland", Obasanjo said
Also, the Kogi state Governor, Yahaya Bello lauded the expertise and dedication of the Iyalode Musulumi, saying that her recognition lay credence to the age long tradition of Egba spirit of rewarding excellence.
"Your conferment with the prestigious title of the lyalode of Egba Muslims shows that the Egba nation has not deviated from her age long tradition of rewarding excellence.
"You have represented the Egba's spirit well wherever you go and you have
brought to bear, your experience, expertise, brilliance and dedication to whatever you believe in.
"These have always put a green carpet under your feet.
"You deserve this magnitude and colour of celebration.You are an extraordinary
being that Kogi will always want to identify with, You are Egba's blessing to
Kogi State and humanity.
"On behalf of my family, the Government and people of Kogi State, i wish you a successful reign", Gov. Bello wrote.
Meanwhile, former Ogun state governor, Sen. Ibikunle Amosun in his goodwill message says the Iyalode Musulumi nominations is well deserved, adding that it speaks volumes of her years of service.
"Your nomination for this chieftaincy title by the Egba Muslim Council is well-deserved and speaks volumes about your service and commitment to the cause of the Almighty Allah (swn) and the propagation of Islam.
"As the new lyalode of Egba Muslim, I enjoin you to do more for the
advancement of Islam in Egbaland and Ogun State. I wish you a successful installation ceremony and pray that the Almighty Allah (swn will give you the wherewithal to discharge your duties effectively", Amosun said
In the same vein, former minister, Olusegun Aganga extols the Iyalode's adherence to the tenets of the islamics religion, and her passion to serve, saying that the nomination did not come to him as a surprise
"I wish to extend my heartfelt greetings and warm congratulations to you on your nomination and installation as the Iyalode of Egba Muslims.
"I have always known you for your strong faith and adherence to the tenets of the Islamic religion and its teachings as well as your passion to serve. Accordingly, your very well deserved nomination as the Iyalode of Egba Muslims, did not come as a surprise.
"The Crown definitely fits the Head, and I have no doubt that this will spur you to delivering greater service to the Almighty Allah (SWT), the entire Egba Muslim Community and humanity at large", he said
The National President of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Comrade Chris Isiguzo, MFR in his address, congratulates the new Iyalode, adding that her valuable contributions in the media space cannot be overemphasized.
"It is with immense joy and admiration that I, on behalf of the Nigeria Union of
Journalists extend my warmest congratulations to you on your well-deserved installation as the Iyalode of Egba Muslims.
"Your nomination by the Egba Muslim Council is a true reflection of your unwavering commitment to the cause of Almighty Allah (SWT) and the propagation of Islam.
"I am not only celebrating your remarkable achievements in the realm of journalism and media consultancy but also recognizing the profound impact you have had as the distinguished Publisher of the Point Newspaper.
"Your new role as Iyalode is a testament to your exceptional leadership.and the high regard in which you are held within the community. I encourage you to continue your exemplary service in advancing Islam in Egbaland and Ogun State.
"May your installation ceremony be filled with joy and success, and I pray that the
Almighty. Allah (SWT) grants you the wisdom; strength, and divine guidance to discharge your duties effectively", the NUJ President added
