The Olowu of Owu in Abeokuta, Oba Saka Matemilola has assured youths in Ogun state of the nation's brighter future amidst the growing 'japa' syndrome.
Olowu gave the advice when a group, Ogun Youth Advocate for Social Development (OGYASD) conferred the honor of a grand patron on him at his Owu palace on Friday.
Oba Matemilola who told the youths that migrating to Europe and America is not the way out of the challenges they are facing in the country, encouraged them to join hands with the government to take Nigeria to the eldorado.
Olowu while commending OGYASD 'for giving youths good representation in the state and the immense developmental projects and programmes they have executed across the 20 local governments of the state since inception, called for more hard work and dedication in their service to humanity.
"I want to commend you for all your good works in Ogun state. I want to urge you not to relent. Continue in your selfless service to the youths of Ogun state. The government is also watching you. They can see your efforts.
"I want to assure you of my support for all your programmes and projects and I will do well to ensure that the government embraces your initiative and attends to your yearning for youth development.
Earlier in his speech, the President of the group, Comrade Oluseyi Alamu commended the fatherly gesture of the monarch and assured of OGYASD's
more commitment of the service to the youths of Ogun state.
Alamu who led other members noted that the rate of unemployment in the state is on the high, hence, the need for the group to stand out as the voice of the voiceless youths.
The President said the choice of Olowu as the group's grand patron was infoed by his (Olowu) love and passion for the youths.
His words "We are advocating for so many things on behalf of the youths in Ogun state. We want good and people friendly governance, we want employment for our youths, we want a good representation for the youths in various administrations amongst others.
"We really appreciate your highness. You're a great father to us. We thank you for accepting to be our grand patron and I promise that we will never disappoint you.
