How auxiliary nurse Ogedengbe 'injected' Mohbad to death –Police

The police in Lagos say Feyisayo Ogedengbe, the auxiliary nurse who injected Mohbad, is prime suspect in the singer's death.

Mohbad died on September 12 and was buried the next day.

The circumstances surrounding his death have continued to stir up controversies on social media.

Several suspects - including an auxiliary nurse, Naira Marley, Sam Larry and Primeboy - are currently in police custody with respect to the investigation into Mohbad's death.

On September 14, Joseph Aloba, Mohbad's dad, had said his son passed away after receiving an injection administered by the auxiliary nurse.

During a press briefing on Friday afternoon, Idowu Owohunwa, the Lagos state police commissioner, gave updates on the ongoing investigation into the singer's demise.

Owohunwa said the "auxiliary nurse, Feyisayo Ogedemgbe, who was invited by Mohbad’s friend, Ayobami Sodiq aka Spending, administered multiple and highly potent injections which triggered an immediate reaction that eventually occasioned the death of Mohbad".

"At about 14:35hrs of 12th September 2023, Miss Feyisayo eventually arrived. Armed with one pack of Ceftriaxone injection, one paracetamol injection.... several needles, and syringes," he said.

"Miss Feyisayo administered the drugs.... Mohbad started vomiting, while goosebumps appeared on his face, Mohbad was reacting to the administered medications."

Thousands of Nigerians have demanded justice for Mohbad in nationwide protests.

On September 21, the police exhumed Mohbad’s corpse for autopsy and are awaiting the results.
