Virtually every known traditional ruler across Nigeria was in Bida, Niger State in order to participate in the week-long event which marked the celebration of the 71st Birthday and 20 years anniversary on the throne of the 13th Etsu Nupe Alhaji (Dr.) Yahaya Abubakar CFR.
Indeed, the 13th Etsu Nupe, His Royal Highness, Alhaji (Dr.) Yahaya Abubakar CFR, and Chairman, Niger State Council of Traditional Rulers, has exemplified the potentials of a unifier, there by attracting monarchs from across Nigeria to Bida.
That is why the celebration of his birthday is electrifying and greeted with much excitement and fanfare among both indigenes and non indigenes resident in Niger State and from outside the state.
One of the prominent Nigerian Monarchs who couldn't hide his joy and excitement at the event is the young and vibrant Eyewei the 5th of Azuzuama, Southern Ijaw LGA of Bayelsa State, His Royal Highness, Dr Selky Kile Torughedi who attended the ceremony with his envoy in solidarity with the 13th Etsu Nupe.
Speaking to Journalists during the event on Saturday 17th September, 2023 at the Bida Palace of the Etsu Nupe, HR Dr Selky Kile Torughedi extolled the virtues of the Etsu Nupe, HRH Alhaji (Dr.) Yahaya Abubakar CFR as a global Ambassador of Peace and Unity, stressing that the event exemplifies the good potentials and intentions of the Traditional institution in unifying Nigeria.
HRH Dr Selky added that his prayers for the 13th Etsu Nupe are for good health, long life of many more productive years on the throne and the prosperity of the Nupe Kingdom and Nigeria at large.
HRH Dr Selky harped on the unity of Nigeria and the role traditional rulers can play by supporting each other, and rallying around each other during times such as this.
HRH Dr Selky also revealed that he is always willing and ready to collaborate with monarchs across Nigeria in order to solidify the peace, prosperity and unity of Nigeria as a country, while calling on Nigerians to desist from engaging in acts and utterances capable of bringing disunity.
HRH Dr Selky used the opportunity to also thank the Ona of Abaji, His Royal Majesty Alh. (Dr) Adamu Baba Yunusa, CON, the Chairman FCT Council of Chiefs for his fatherly role in fostering unity and peace in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. HRH Dr Selky noted with joy the fatherly role played by the Ona of Abaji in carrying young monarchs from across Nigeria along, there by fostering brotherly bond and unity among Nigerians.
