The forthcoming maiden edition of the Ogun State Employment Conference will improve the prospects of gainful employment to the teeming youths of the State just as it is planned to bridge the gap between global and local realities.
In a press statement issued in Abeokuta by the Chairman, Local Planning Committee, Ogun State Employment Conference, Dr. Olu. Ola. Aikulola, who doubles as the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment, said the 2-Day conference, is a collaboration between the Ogun State Government and German Government through German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ).
The statement pointed out that the conference which was earlier scheduled for the first week in September would be formally declared open by the State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun with other top government functionaries in attendance, as it holds between October 11 and 12, 2023 at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library in Abeokuta by 9.00am prompt.
It indicated that the theme of the conference, " Addressing Employment and Job Creation in Ogun State- Tapping into the Global and Local Opportunities," would bring together policy makers, international development organizations, organized private sector networks and other relevant employment and labour market-related actors and youths to exchange ideas on key sectoral issues.
The press release also noted that a well planned job fair would come up as a follow-up to the employment conference in the first or second week of November in order to afford job seekers the opportunity to interact with prospective employers.
