Eid-El-Maulud: Adekoya felicitates with Muslims, calls for tolerance

As Muslims in Nigeria join others all over the world to mark Eid-El-Maulud, the Reps Deputy Minority Whips, 9th Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adesegun Abdel-Majid Adekoya, has appealed to fellow Muslims to use the occasion to reflect on the virtues of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).

Adekoya, in a message to commemorate the birthday of Prophet Muhammed (SAW), described the noble Prophet as a role model to all.

The Federal Government had declared tomorrow, Wednesday, September 27, as a public holiday in commemoration of the birthday of the Holy Prophet.

"As we celebrate the birthday of our noble Prophet Muhammad (SAW), let us reflect on his virtues and teachings, and follow his examples in our daily activities. Let us imbibe the lessons of compassion, peace, and support for one another as preached by our noble Prophet,’’ he said.

He also used the occasion to admonish all stakeholders in the state to work towards restoring lasting peace to the state following the recent cult clash that recorded many life lost in Sagamu area of Ogun state, noting that it is everyone’s responsibility to make Ogun State peaceful and progressive.

He said: “I wish all Muslims faithful in Ogun State and across the world a happy Eidul-Mawlid Nabiy celebration and pray that the blessings for the season fill our lives and homes.”
