The Mandate Movement (TMM), a prominent political group, has vehemently denied recent allegations circulating through the media space suggesting their support for the Labour Party's presidential candidate, Peter Obi, during the 2023 presidential election. In a press statement released today, Prince Adewale Arogundade, a chieftain of the group, clarified their unwavering commitment to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its candidates, particularly Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
These allegations had cast a shadow over TMM's integrity and commitment to the APC. However, in his statement, Arogundade categorically refuted the claims, labelling them as "completely false and baseless."
During the highly contested presidential election, Arogundade asserted that they played a pivotal role in supporting Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Sanwo-Olu and all other APC's candidate. The group initiated a dynamic campaign strategy in all the local government areas which encompassed designing posters, banners, jingles, organizing rallies, and conducting extensive grassroots campaigns to secure the success of the APC.
The statement also addressed allegations against TMM's Chairman, Abdullahi Ayinde Enilolobo, which suggested his involvement in anti-party activities. Arogundade dismissed these claims as both baseless and contradictory to their dedication to the APC's success. He challenged those making these allegations to provide concrete evidence to substantiate their claims or remain silent forever.
In a call for integrity and responsible political discourse, Arogundade emphasized the importance of relying on facts rather than disseminating false information. He reaffirmed the group's commitment to advancing the APC's goals and pledged to continue supporting its candidates in future elections.
His statement concluded with an appeal to all APC members and supporters to remain united in their pursuit of a better future for Lagos and Nigeria.
