Chelsea may not be able to bring Napoli striker Victor Osimhen to West London this summer over their failure to qualify for the Champions League.
The Blues are pushing to sign the Nigeria international frontman but a lack of Champions League football is proving problematic.
Sky Sports Germany journalist, Florian Plettenberg reports that the Blues are keen on signing Osimhen, with the 24-year-old striker top on the list.
Osimhen has been in prolific form since joining the Serie A winners from Lille and has scored 28 goals in 37 games across competitions this season.
The German journalist tweeted, “Chelsea is still pushing! They want him as their new striker! He’s top of the list. Understand there are price expectations of about €110m+ Boni at this stage.”
Plettenberg explained that Chelsea needs to sell first before they could buy the Nigerian, adding that their failure to qualify for the Champions League is also an issue.
“But (CFC) has to sell players first and De Laurentiis wants more and at least €150m. Problematic for Chelsea: No Champions League next season.”
