The newly inaugurated Executive Governor of Zamfara state, Dauda Lawal made a declaration of 9 trillion Nairas in cash, investment and property assets.
The Code of Conduct Bureau had mandated all the newly elected Governors to make their asset declaration submitted to the Bureau before May 29th 2023 when they were sworn-in.
Many citizens were surprised when it was disclosed that Governor Lawal claimed he is worth N9,000,000,000,000.00 and when converted to US Dollars, Dauda Lawal’s 9 trillion naira is equivalent to about 12 billion dollars.
Dauda Lawal was a Former Executive Director at the First Bank of Nigeria Plc. He also worked sometimes with the former Minister of Petroleum, Allison Madueke.
