The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in Ogun Central Senatorial District, 𝐂𝐇𝐈𝐄𝐅 𝐎𝐋𝐔𝐌𝐈𝐃𝐄 𝐀𝐃𝐄𝐑𝐈𝐍𝐎𝐊𝐔𝐍 has praised former President of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo for brokering peace talks to end civil war in Ethiopia.
Chief Aderinokun who is the Akinruyiwa of Owu Kingdom, applauded the Balogun of Owu Kingdom, Chief Obasanjo for leading the negotiations between the Ethiopian government and Tigray authorities which will end the war that started between the two parties in November 2020.
Chief Aderinokun in a tweet said: "Chief Olusegun Obasanjo continues to cement his status as a true Pan-African leader and a giant of Africa.
"Ethiopians and the rest of Africa will never forget his role in ending the war that lasted two years. An African giant indeed.
"I celebrate him everyday for his wealth of leadership experience and uncommon qualities. Chief Obasanjo is more like a father to me."
After days of negotiations in the South African city of Pretoria, the warring parties signed a peace deal to cease fire in the presence of African Union mediators led by Chief Obasanjo and former Kenya president President Uhuru Kenyatta.
According to reports, as many as 700,000 people have died in the war that started on November 4, 2020.
