How Popular Vetetan Actress Taiwo Ajai-Lycett, Celebrates Her 81st Birthday [See Photos]

 Taiwo Ajai-Lycett, an 81-year-old veteran actress, celebrated her birthday in style.

"Today, on my 81st birthday, I say a nice wish for myself: that my life be cheerful, adventurous, and that I reap the full advantages of my effort," the articulate actress wrote on Instagram while posting images of herself. I wish for the rest of my life to be the best of my life, with no regrets. My remaining years would be jam-packed with activities, making an effect on others, and enjoying myself and those around me.

Popular actress Taiwo Ajayi-Lycett was born on February 3, 1941, in Lagos, Western Region of Colonial Nigeria, as the first of a set of twin daughters. Her father was of Awori origin. She attended Mt Carmel Convent School in Lagos and then Methodist Girls' High School in Lagos.

She became a mother at the age of 15, which prompted her parents and family to turn their backs on her, but she went on to enroll in evening classes. Through her friend David Akinduro, whom she eventually married, she got the opportunity to travel to the United Kingdom in 1959.
