We are aimed at discovering youth with budding football talents

It was jubilation galore for the youths across Ijebu North Local Government Area of Ogun State as they all gathered to watch the final match of 4th and 2021 Edition of FeelingCool Football Challenge Cup Final which was held on Thursday, 23rd December, 2021 at Abobi Comprehensive High School, Ago Iwoye. 

The tournament was sponsored by an APC chieftain and Ogun State House of Assembly hopeful (Ijebu North ll State Constituency) in 2023, Prince Adewale Adeshina (Feelingcool).

The 4th and 2021 Edition of FeelingCool Football Challenge Cup final played, saw Dejon FC defeated Ago Iwoye Football Academy 1-0, while in the third place match Good Examples FC emerged as the second runner-up of the competition. 

The final match lived up to expectations as coaches, fans, football stakeholders, and youths present at the event applauded the two teams for their football artistry displayed throughout the encounters. Some of the football fans said there are more talents discovered from the competition and urged the organizers to recommend the talented players to Ogun State Football Association. 

The sponsor of the competition, Prince Adeshina Adewale(FeelingCool) who was represented by Comrade Abogun Oluwasegun Lukman said the FeelingCool Football Challenge Cup was aimed at  discovering youth with budding football talents who can be further developed to greater heights, foster friendship among the youth and to mobilise support for His Excellency, Prince Dr. Dapo Abiodun (MFR) to continue the Building Our Future Together Agenda till 2027.

According to Comrade Abogun, "our youths are the Nation's assets and we must invest in them by engaging them in sporting activities. With your God given Football talents, opportunities are abound to see the world, become famously great and good Ambassadors of our dear state and Nigeria at large". 


The Chairman of occasion, Mr. Adeola Lanre Runsewe commended the Cup donor, Prince Adeshina Adewale for sponsoring such a huge football competition across all the eleven wards in Ijebu North Local Government Area and called on other sports philanthropists and corporate organization to follow suit. He said, Ogun State will excelled more in international football tourneys if there are regular grassroots football competitions where more talents would be discovered for the future national teams. 

Special Guest of the occasion, Former Honourable Member of Ogun State House of Assembly, Hon. Joseph Adegbesan thanked Prince Adewale for sponsoring the football tournament to mobilise supports for His Excellency, Prince Dr. Dapo Abiodun (MFR) so that the Building Our Future Together Agenda of our Governor can continue beyond 2023. He also said this type of grassroots football competition will not only engage the youth of this local government positively, but reduce their involvement in social vices and as well boost the economy of our state. 

The winner of the competition, Dejom FC won a cash prize of Five Hundred Thousand naira, the first runner-up, Ago Iwoye Football Academy went home with Two hundred and Fifty Thousand naira while the second runner-up, Good Examples FC from Ijebu Igbo was rewarded with One hundred and fifty thousand naira. 
Anari James of Ago Iwoye Football  Academy won Fifty thousand naira for emerging the best player of the tournament,  highest goal scorer of the tournament, Olusanya Tola of Aromus Sport Club went home with Fifty Thousand náírà cash, Salami Taiwo of Oyinkiikoro FC won the Best Goalkeeper award and a cash prize of Fifty Thousand naira while Mrs Onabanjo Nosirat Adenike won the best fan award, a medal and cash prize of Ten thousand naira.

The spectators were entertained by Nigerian Afro - Pop singer, dancer and performer, Mr Adekunle Temitope, known as Small Doctor while popular comedian and content creator Yemi Elesho made people laughed all through the day with disc jockey performance from DJ Cisse.

Prince Adewale Adeshina who is aspiring to represent the good people of Ifelodun State Constituency in the Ogun State House of Assembly in 2023 has been funding and sponsoring sporting activities for the teaming youths of Ago Iwoye, and using it as a tool to bring them together and  keep them away from societal vices since 2018.
