Following the redeployment of Professor Kabiru Mato from the Ministry of Sports Development to that of Ministry of Business Innovation and Technology, the Sports Writers Association of NIgeria (SWAN), Kaduna State chapter has commended him for his contributions to the sector while at the helms of affair.
This was contained in a statement signed by Kaduna SWAN Secretary, Okpani Jacob Onjewu Dickson, dated Monday October 11, issued to newsmen in Ilorin.
The statement equally welcomed on board, Mr. Idris Nyam as the Commissioner of Sports, who replaces Professor Mato.
"We are congratulating the new Sports Commissioner, Mr. Idris Nyam. We are optimistic that he will continue the good works of his predecessor, Professor Mato who brought a lot of innovation into grassroots sports development in our dear State, Kaduna," it said.
SWAN said that the association wishes Mr. Nyam success at the helm of affairs in the ministry, while extending same to Professor Mato in his new assignment.
The association also commended Governor Nasir el-Rufai, whom they said, ensured the state's contingent at the 2021 National Youth Games (NYG) were adequately catered for in terms of kits and other logistics.
