The President of National Association of Proprietor of Private Schools. (NAPPS), Ogun State chapter Dr Lawrence Holumidey who is the Proprietor of Paragon International College, Odeda, Ogun State has harped on the need to put an end to proliferation of private schools' associations in Ogun State at the concluding part of the statewide workshop of the group organised by the Ogun state ministry of education science and technology and private schools' association in the state.
NAPPS is the apex association of proprietors of private schools in Nigeria.
He admonished the various association here and there to form a formidable synergy against the current proliferation of association in the state. He stated where we have Association of Muslim Schools (AMIS) and League of Islamic Schools (LEAMPS) are unnecessary duplications within thesame religious believe. In his words, If truly we are promoting Christian Education, duplication of Christian schools' association is not necessary.
Dr Lawrence Holumidey pleaded with the state ministry of education to look into this by creating a minimum standard for any Association to be so recognized as a critical and genuine stakeholder in the state to halt the current trend of association proliferation.
The workshop which was declared opened in Abeokuta by Prof Arigbabu, the Ogun State commissioner for Education Science and Technology at Victory plaza last week Thursday was brought to a close by the representative of the commissioner; The Director Quality assurance and Teacher Education dept of the ministry, Mr Akinsolu Martins at Yewa Central College in Ilaro on Wednesday 8th of September, 2021.
