Prince John Adegbola has congratulated the newly installed Oloja Ekun Of Igbesa Kingdom , His Royal Highness, Oba Abdul-Azeez Oluwatoyin Akinde, Ilufemiloye 1, Arebigbade II, on his coronation and presentation of staff of office by the State Government.
Oba Abdul-Azeez Oluwatoyin Akanbi Akande, The 12th Oloja Ekun, Arebigbade II was born on the 26th July 1957 to Mr Saka Idowu Akinde and Mrs Nimotalai Akinde, as a youngster, Oloja Ekun obtained his Primary Leaving Certificate from Awori - Ajeromi Primary School, Kiri Kiri, Ajegunle Lagos in 1967. He then proceeded to Lincoln Secondary School Egbe, Lagos State, where he got his WASC in 1976.
His ambition to pursue a professional career began when he completed his Higher National Diploma ( HND) in Accounting at Lagos State Polytechnic Isolo, Lagos in 1983. Always disciplined about his goals, he complemented this with self pursued private study which led to a successful achievement of an Accounting Diploma at the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) in 1985.
He followed this immediately with a job as an accountant at the Lagos State University ( LASU) from 1985- 1987.
He also studied and obtained a diploma in Data Processing from University of Lagos ( Unilag) from 1987 - 1988 where he met his wife, Olori Rabiat Oluwatoyin Akinde.
Concurrently in 1987, he was worked as a lecturer at the Federal Polytechnic Ilaro, a position he held until 1991.
Kabiyesi and Olori tied the knot in matrimony in 1989 after which she moved to the U.K
In keeping with their marriage vows, Kabiyesi joined Olori in the UK in1991.
In line with his ambitions, Kabiyesi enrolled with the University of Dundee in the year of his arrival in the UK and obtained an MBA in 1992.
Given his drive and ambition, Kabiyesi took on a range of short term roles as an Interim Accountant with Samsung, Guinness and Honda to widen the scope of his experience in as little time as possible.
Not relenting on his academic quest, he went to obtain a BA (Hons) degree from University of West London in 1997.
After his graduation and in the same year, he set up his Accounting firm
Azkin Account Taxation Ltd, U.K and remains the Founder and Director.
The company has grown in time to match and surpass many contemporary accounting firms.
He also consulted for Joseph Anderson & Co. U.K. Chartered Accountants from 2008-2014.
Coalescing his experience, in 2014, he made a foray into Ghana where he set up a subsidiary company to Azkin called Ebony Friends and remains the Founder and Director to date.
Kabiyesi is a member of several professional bodies some of which include Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), UK 2000 where he is Fellow. He is also member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation ( 2016).
In preparation for his relocation back to Nigeria and the then possible (now a reality) accession of the throne of his forefathers, Kabiyesi in 2018 expanded his business empire to Nigeria by setting up Toyin Azeezat Akinde ( TAA) & Co Chartered Accountants and Tax Consultants in Ikeja Lagos.
The company continues to grow from strength to strength.
Being one, who never forgets his source and in spite of his relocation to the U.K where he has resided for over 30 years, he remained an active member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria and is a member of its local chapter in the U.K. ICAN U.K. District Society.
He was the Financial Secretary of ICAN from 2005- 2008, the Technical Secretary from 2009 - 2011 & Chairman of its Conference Committee in 2013.
The same attribute of not forgetting his source made him seek and join the Igbesa & District Community Association in the U.K as soon as he arrived in the U.K. This association was convened by Chief Oluwole Ayinde Ajo on his arrival in 1991.
The association was then led by late Pa Tijani Babatunde Odunsi ( Reading), late Pa Abiodun Akinosi (London) and late Pastor Samuel Taiwo Akinde ( London).
In spite of the fact that he was in Scotland, Kabiyesi will travel down to London for meetings and was the Secretary of the association for many years.
When Chief Olu Ajo relocated back to Nigeria, the association became defunct.
He took the singular initiative to resuscitate and rejuvenate it and is currently it’s Chairman.
Kabiyesi is an avid Manchester United supporter, he loves travelling, reading, meeting people and networking.
His trim youthful look comes from good Akinde genes and regular jogging and exercising.
