ABEOKUTA — Ogun Agric Team has visited iApojola, Odeda Local Government Area of the State to monitor land clearing activities in preparation for the year 2021 planting season, on Friday 30th April 2021.
The area inspected is a 1000-Hectare farmland, in which the Federal Government collaborated with Ogun State Government to clear 400hectares while Ogun State Government cleared the remaining 600hectares for youths' engagement in Agriculture. This land clearing activity aligns with the State Agricultural Agenda of linkage of youths to Land, inputs, credit, training and market.
Meanwhile, The Ogun Agric Team also had a stop over at Igbolee Community in Odeda Local Government area.The team was received by the Baale of the Community; Chief Jelili Ogundiya. In his remarks, the Baale of Igbolee Community commended the Ogun State Government for the progress of work done on the land clearing sites and promised the continued cooperation of the community towards the successful completion of the Land clearing project.
Also present on the tour were the Deputy Director of Land Management, Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (FMARD); Mr Yeeken Razaq, Permanent Secretary, Ogun State Ministry of Agriculture; Dr. Dotun Sorunke, Director of Planning Research and Statistics; Mr Fashola, Extension Officers and other Officials of Ogun State Ministry of Agriculture.
