Since the news broke that the Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki-led National Reconciliation & Strategy Committee of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) has resolved the age-long crisis within the Ogun State chapter of the party, many people who know my involvement and relationship with the late Senator Buruji Kashamu have been asking for my opinion on the development. Hence, this press statement.
Crisis in a political party is common - place , even in the older democracies. Party politics is not conflict - free but it is conflict - resolving.
It should be clearly stated from the outset that although I am not a member of the PDP, I share in the ideas, beliefs, values and philosophy of the late Senator Buruji Kashamu. I am referring to his matchless selflessness, philosophy of politics of empowerment for all and his unwavering commitment to the greatest good for the greatest number of people.
These and many more made me to choose him as my boss and leader. And this explains why I remain committed to protecting his interests and legacies whenever and wherever the need arises, regardless of whether he is alive or dead.
Thankfully, I have been reliably informed that the crisis that pitted the Senator Kashamu-group against Hon. Oladipupo Adebutu-group has been resolved in such a way that my late boss's legacy is preserved.
In the words of Rachel Hawthorne " Deception may gives us what we want for the present, but it will take it away in the End
Now that it has become public knowledge that Segun Seriki, who brain-washed Mr. Samson Kayode Bamgbose (a.k.a Imisi) and his cohorts, has been treated as the Inconsequential mercenaries and perpetual morons that he is, it is time to give peace a chance. There is no victor; no vanquished. It is a win-win situation for the politics and democracy in Ogun State.
For Seriki, Bamgbose ( The Cotonou/ Ipokia born money missed road and other bunch of compromise and confused Political Miscreants who sought to march on the grave of their benefactor for a meal ticket (read cash),should bury their heads in shame that despite all their treacherous acts, they are all now confirmed inconsequential by the spirit and letters of the agreement brokered by the Saraki's Committee.
That is why Seriki is sulking and lamenting. All the noise is mere fuss; subterfuge, no substance. I was sufficiently close to the late Senator Kashamu to know that Seriki had left his political family immediately after the 2019 election. What's more, he had been expelled from the PDP by the National Executive Committee of the PDP since October 2018. So, he lacked the locus standi to engage anyone ab initio. All his threats and blackmail go to no issue. They should be ignored. They are no more than the ranting of an ant. In the post he mistakenly put out yesterday, he confessed that he was "supported" (read paid) to poach on some members of the State Exco and destabilize the Kashamu political family. Alas, he underestimated the resolve of some young turks within the Kashamu political family like Barrister Taiwo Shote (a.k.a PEPE) and Hon Adeleke Shittu
I wish to advise that parties to the peace agreement just executed should endeavour to keep to their side of the bargain and do everything in good faith.
Martin's Luther kings junior says "The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy."
And to show my support for the truce just brokered, I am out of the trenches - for now - but might be forced to resume hostilities if the actions and inactions of any of the parties suggest bad faith!
In concluding this piece, I strongly advise that all Local Government and Ward party position must be shared with Late Senator Buriji Faction as this is the only option to lasting peace.
I remain very committed to my late Boss interest therefore Hon Ladi Adebutu should shuns any form of divisiveness
Thank you and God bless.
Signed by Comrade Gentleman Arabambi Abayomi
( Ogburu gburu 1 of Ogun State )
