It's been weeks after the Imo north senatorial election held but the winner of the election is yet to be declared by the Independent National electoral commission.
Although the INEC declared APC as the winner of the election but didn't return any candidate in the election because the party had no legal candidate in the election.
This is due to the fact that two differentcourt judgement sacked Frank Ibezim and Senator Ifeanyi Ararume just few days before the election held.
As a result of this, there has been confusion in Okigwe Zone over who the INEC will eventually declare as winner of the election.
However, classified information has revealed that the candidate of the PDP, Chief Emmanuel Okewulonu has filed a case with the court and eventually, the court might have to write INEC to declare him winner of the election.
He will be declared on the ground that he was the next candidate with the highest number of votes after the APC, and the candidates of the APC participated in the election illegally.
It is an illegal act for a party to field two candidates for an election, hence, the court might have to annul the votes of the APC despite the fact that they had the highest vote and give it to the candidate of the PDP.
What do you think about this?
