Abeokuta - The Vigilante Group Of Nigeria Assistant Commander General Southwest, ACG Olusola Jimoh Olawale has said the group is ready to combat crime and criminalities in Nigeria provided the Federal and state government are ready to support the group with patrol vehicles and other fighting equipment.
Olusola Jimoh, was the former Commander of the group in Lagos before his promotion to the rank of Assistant Commander General ACG in charge of Southwest including Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Ekiti, Osun and Ondo respectively.
He decried unavailability of fighting equipment to engage the criminals in battle when their men burst them during operations.
While speaking with Amebo Newspaper correspondent during a training for the men of Vigilante Group at the Nigeria Police Force NPF Information and Technology College in Abeokuta, " After this training we expect our men to be disciplined with ethics code of security, we urge the federal government to give assent to the VGN bill to enable us showcase our skills in terms of human intelligence which has been assisting other security agencies in making their works more easier in terms of getting to the roots of criminals and making arrests with prosecution." said ACG Olusola Jimoh

Adedoyin Olanrewaju Nureni, The National Public Relations Officer emphasised on the urgent need for the state government of the 36 states to assist the Vigilante Group of Nigeria VGN by making provision of vehicles and other fighting equipment as the yuletide season is on, while giving his words of appreciation to the former Governor of Ogun state now a Senator representing Ogun Central at the House of Assembly, Senator Ibikunle Amosun for extending hands of support to the group by distributing 5 patrol van and 5 motorcycles for patrols during his administration which really helped the group extensively but we still need more.
"Our Commander General, Dr Usman Mohammad Jahun fsi has been working tirelessly to ensure the crime and criminalities is reduced to the bearest minimum in Nigeria through the efforts of the well trained officers of Vigilante Group of Nigeria, we need more encouragement and motivation from our governors and private individuals to enable us to proof our skills, we thank the Nigeria Police for the unflinching supports in terms of incorporation to various leadership trainings and seminar for the group." Adedoyin Added.
Also, Commandant Olusola Temitope Odogu, Ogun State, assured the general public of better approach and representation by the men of Vigilante Group of Nigeria VGN in combating crimes and criminalities with modern age technology after the training at the Police College of Information and Technology.
