The Chief Whip of Ogun State House of Assembly, Hon (Mrs) Atinuke Bello has been honoured with Award of Excellence of Federated Chapel, Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Ogun State Council.
The Abu-Sata Ahmed led leadership of the Federated Chapel which consists of publishers and editors of community newspapers and online publications, said the union decided to honour Hon (Mrs) Atinuke Bello representing Odogbolu State constituency due to her commitment to ensuring that her people enjoy dividends of democracy.
The legislator is described as a goal getter and inspiration to encouraging women in politics and that the lawmaker deserved a pat on the back for making selfless leadership her watchword.
Ogun State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Mr. Hameed Abodunrin was later asked to present the award to the indefatigable lawmaker, represented by her husband, Mr Oluwatoyin Bello.
Speaking over the honour done her, Atinuke Bello thanked the people of Odogbolu local government who she said gave her the opportunity to contribute her quota to the development of the state, the basis upon which she is being honoured by hardworking journalists in the state.
She said “I must really thank the organisers of this award, the Federated Chapel of Ogun NUJ, this is very thoughtful of you because the Yoruba will say when you appreciate someone for doing well, he or she is further encouraged to continue in that path of goodness.
“So, I really appreciate this award coming from the fourth estate of the realm, I dedicate it to God almighty and the people of Odogbolu local government for their rock solid support and I am also assurring them that better days are surely ahead, thank you all”.
